Newton is a 2018 Kannada film directed by D. Rajendra Babu and written by Sarath Mandayam. The film stars Arjun Sarja, Nikhila Vimal and Shanthi Krishna in the lead roles. Newton is a Kannada movie about the life of the Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan (later known as "Nightingale of India"). It is based on Gita Piramal's biography, The Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life Of The Genius Ramanujan and its portrayal of the joint English-Indian efforts to measure how much India contributed to world knowledge during colonial rule, when so much was lost or suppressed in both cultures. It was produced by G. N. Balakrishna and directed by D. Rajendra Babu. Newton is a 2018 Tamil-language period action-adventure film written and directed by Ramesh Aravind starring Dhanush, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Sivakarthikeyan in the lead roles while Jassie Gift plays an important role. It is produced by Lyca Productions and has music composed by BGM artist Gopi Sunder with cinematography by Vivek Harshan. The film is released worldwide on 21 September 2018, though in India it got delayed to 2 October 2018 due to release date clashes with Jallikattu which was released on 30 September 2018.
